Room 26 Updates

Hello Families,

I hope everyone is having a nice start to their week. I am so ready for spring break, where I am heading to Florida to enjoy some much needed sunshine!

With this impending snow storm approaching (I can't even believe I have to say this at the end of March!), there are a few things I want to note in case we are out for a day or two this week:

  • Word Study Tests will be on Friday. Make sure your child studies their words even if we are out of school.
  • Our Mali Test will still be on Friday, no matter how many days we miss. Your children filled in the rest of their notes today. It is their job to study if we are not in school.
  • Critter Cans are still due Friday. Snow days actually give them more time to get them ready!
  • Math Homework and Reflex will still be due on Friday.
My hope is that the week goes as planned, however I just want to make sure the students understand what is expected of them if they get a couple of days off this week. Please let me know if you have any questions. Stay warm!

Dig It Reminder

Hello Families,

Tomorrow is our Dig It play starting at 8:30am. The students have been working so hard practicing to make sure the play is great! Don't forget that our class needs to wear black (or dark) pants and a white shirt. If you child is playing the characters Taki or Tut, they should wear a white shirt and khaki pants. Make sure your child wears the costume to school because right after announcements we will start getting ready. Please make sure you bring your child to school on time as well so that they can prepare for the play with the class.

Hope to see you all there!

Room 26 Updates

Hello Families,

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Can I just say that I am ready for warm weather and for all this "snow" talk to just stop! Below I have listed some reminders and information about things that are going on in Room 26 this week!

Cap Collection and Movie Night:
We have collected 425 pounds of caps so far! I am certain that we will reach our goal before spring break. I cannot thank you enough for collecting. I will let you know when we have reached our goal and you can stop collecting caps and we will share how you can correctly dispose of them in the future. I also want to remind you that this Friday is our fundraiser movie night to help raise money to  get the caps to Indiana. If you are still interested in signing up, it's not too late! Let me know if you need another RSVP form and I will send one home. It is $20 to drop your child off for pizza and a movie (Coco) from 6-8:30pm.

Dig It:
Our third grade play Dig It is this Friday at 8:30am. The kids have been rehearsing hard and are excited to perform. Remember that they need to wear black/dark pants and a white shirt. The characters of Taki and Tut (they know who they are) should wear khaki/light pants and a white shirt. If your child has a speaking part, please help them memorize it. They need to have it memorized by Wednesday as that is our final rehearsal. Can't wait to see you there!

Critter Can Project:
Please don't forget that Critter Cans are due Friday, March 23rd. Students are working on researching their animal in class and are learning a lot of information that should be able to help them create the animal at home. Make sure your child is doing most of the work and offer assistance when needed. If you have any questions, please let me know ASAP. These projects WILL NOT be accepted late. If your child will not be here on Friday, March 23rd, please have them turn it in the last day there are here before spring break. I WILL NOT accept projects after spring break.

Interims Emailed Home today!

Hello Families,

I hope everyone is enjoying their week!

Today interims will be sent home via emailALL students in my class will receive an interim so that you are aware of your child's progress so far this quarter. Please note that we have not had any social studies grades so that subject is left blank, as well as there have only be a couple of grades taken in Language Arts so a low grade doesn't mean they are not progressing, but that they had a low score on one assignment. Please be aware that I may have written comments on your child's interim to give you a little more information about their progress. Some of these comments will appear at the very bottom or the interim, below the grades. Don't miss it! Please feel free to email me to address any concerns you may have. We can always set up a mid-quarter conference if you feel that is necessary.

Important Dates/Reminders

  • Monday, March 12th--New word study words will be sent home
