I wanted to send a quick reminder that 3rd grade is hosting an SOL Night on Wednesday, February 21st at 6:00pm in the Pinebrook Library. We will cover all topics relating to the SOLs--what it is, why students have to take it, what we are doing to prepare them, and how you can help them at home. If this is your first child that is taking the SOLs or you are new to the state of Virginia, then I would highly recommend attending. Feel free to bring a computer so that you can bookmark some of the sites that we will share with you. Please leave your kids at home as this is a parents night and students are discouraged from attending. Hope to see you there!
Caps/Lids Update--
- In one week, our class collected 20 lbs!
- In total, 3rd grade has about 235 lbs...hoping to get 250 lbs by the end of the day
- Check out our class twitter feed. I posted a video of the chaos that is sorting!
- The third grade teachers have secured transportation to Indiana! In order to cover the cost of gas and accommodations, we will be hosting a Parents Night Out on Friday, March 16th to try and raise money. We will have pizza and a movie for students to enjoy and ALL proceeds will go to the final stage of this Recycling Project. More information will be going home in a couple of weeks but wanted to let you know so you can mark the date on your calendar :-)
